#440 - I Need to Confront Someone
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor
Dear Father, I know a believer who is dishonoring Your name. He or she is misrepresenting Your truth. They are leading people away from you. They are demonstrating character traits that would please Your enemy. If they were not a believer, confronting them lovingly would be useless. They would not have the Holy Spirit. My words would seem like foolishness to them and they would continue living rebelliously. However, this person is a believer. The Holy Spirit is in their life to bring about their spiritual transformation. The Holy Spirit can convict this person and lead them to repentance and surrender. This is where I come in. I am being called by You to demonstrate what repentance looks like. I am to demonstrate what surrender to You looks like. My example needs to give them hope about how the Holy Spirit can make them a new man or woman in Christ. If they don't surrender their heart to You, may I lovingly confront them with words inspired by the Holy Spirit. If I do not confront them about their disobedience to you, You will hold me accountable, as if I too were doing this wrong. Father, I am a rebel from You. Forgive me in the name of Jesus Christ. May Your Holy Spirit transform my heart and mind so that I have the authority to set an example and speak truth firmly into their life. Amen.
