#524 - I Am Estranged from Family Members
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor

Dear Father, I am estranged from my family members. I haven't communicated with my parents or my siblings in a long time. I abandoned them. I ran away. I wanted nothing to do with them anymore. My family has become a stranger to me. I have no idea how they are doing or what is going on in their lives. They have no idea what is going on in my life either. Father, this is not what You desire. You are not the God of broken relationships. You are the God who heals relationships. You put me in that family for a reason. I was assigned my parents and siblings to love. You expected me to love them unconditionally, loving them for whomever they are or whatever they are like. I didn't love them. They were so unlovable, so intolerable, that I simply had to run away. I was relying on my own strength. I was denying what You can do when I surrender my life to You. The Holy Spirit can give me the love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, faith, hope, generosity, grace, mercy, and compassion I need to love even the most unlovable person. Father, forgive me of my sin. Forgive me of my rebellion from You. I surrender my life to You. Transform my heart and soul and turn me into a person who can love even my intolerable family members. Father, change me and then give me the strength to reintroduce myself to my family, showing them what the love of God is like. Father, I may be estranged from my family because they were abusive and I was in danger. Help me to love my family through faithful prayer. I ask that Your love will be abundant in their lives. Amen.
