Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor

Dear Father, not all good works are good. If I am motivated to do a good because I want the glory and praise, it is not a good work. We want praise because we think of ourselves as little gods. It is rebellion from You. Good works inspired by hearts of rebellion will not be rewarded. Genuine and authentic good works are inspired by thankfulness for what You have done for us. We do good works because You are delighted when we care for others. Good works that are inspired to delight You are compassionate, empathetic, merciful, kind, and generous. These good works will be rewarded. Good works inspired to praise ourselves will not have those attributes. Father, help me to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind. I will be motivated to do good works for others because I genuinely care for them in Your name. Amen.
