#473 - I'm Having a Conflict with Someone - Part 2
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor
Dear Father, I am having a conflict with someone and it has become very ugly. I have the responsibility before You to resolve this conflict. Father, I need to confess and repent of my own rebellion from You. I've wanted to be my own god. I've doubted You. I've worshipped other things. My rebellion is keeping me from being able to demonstrate the fruits of the spirit that are so important in my relationship with this person. These fruits are love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, kindness, compassion, generosity, grace, and mercy. I can't interact with this person like that if I'm in rebellion from You. Therefore, please forgive me of my rebellion in the name of Jesus Christ. I surrender. Now, may the Holy Spirit transform my heart and mind so that I can be the loving person I need to be for this person. Father, may I then let them vent. Let them spew their anger at me. Let them release all their pent-up feelings. Help me to take it, no matter how insulting and hurtful it may be. May I then let them know I am a work in progress with You. May I tell them of my recent confession and repentance and that I long to be a new person. May I express appreciation for them and may I encourage them. May I then suggest we pray together. If they are willing to pray with me, may I reiterate my appreciation for them in that prayer. If they are not willing to pray with me, may I ask them what I can pray about for them. Finally, Father, may I be willing to help them with something they are struggling with. May I become their servant. Father, if these godly steps do not resolve the conflict, may I have the strength to walk away. However, may what I've done be a seed of godliness in their mind that will inspire them to one day turn to You. Amen.
