#548 - How Can I Honor my Father/Mother?

Dear Father, how can I most effectively honor my father and mother? Jesus Christ summed up the entire Bible by saying that we are to love You with all our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Here is how I am to honor my parents. - I am to surrender my life to You. I am to seek to honor and glorify Your name. - I am to encourage believers in Jesus Christ to surrender their lives to You. - I am to bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit, including love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, kindness, courage, patience, faith, and self-control. - I am to work to build Your kingdom and to strengthen Your church. - I am to be a compassionate, merciful, generous, kind, and gracious to people in need. I am to care for the weak, the poor, the lonely, the sick, the imprisoned, and those who are treated unjustly. Father, there is no greater way to honor my father and mother. May my life reflect the love of God they taught me. Amen.
