#666 - I Want to be More Compassionate
Volume 2 - Prayers to Love Our Neighbor

Dear Father, I'm not a very kind person. I've been self-centered for a very long time. I feel Your heart leading me to become more loving and caring of others. Why? Because You have commanded me to be so. If I love You, I will love what You love - people. - Father, help me to be more compassionate. I want to care for people when they are in pain. I want to empathize with them, doing what I can to help ease their pain. - Father, help me be more generous. I want to sacrifice for others, to incur a cost for the good of someone else. I want to do this without hesitation, reluctance, annoyance, or regret. - Father, I want to be more merciful, treating people with kindness who are not very nice people. I want to treat people with kindness who have committed an offensive act. I want to treat people with kindness who have done me a great wrong. Father, help me to become more like Jesus Christ - compassionate, generous, and merciful. Amen.
